It receives incoming IR signals via UTP cable and distributes them to the appropriate output port of the IR Emitter. The output ports for the IR Emitters are divided into Discrete A, Discrete B, Direct and Common for connection to A/V devices. Each IR Emitter output port corresponds to one device (e.g. Set-top box, DVD player, amplifier, etc.), unless you use a Double head IR Emitter, allowing you to double the A/V devices.
